PARTS Audition
For professional training in contemporary dance - Brussels
ACADEMIC YEAR 2013-2014

PARTS is a school for higher education in contemporary dance, with a full time training program. It offers an education for dancers and choreographers.
The school was founded in 1995 by Rosas and the national opera De Munt/La Monnaie. The director of the school is choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.

PARTS is an international school, with students and teachers coming from more than 20 different countries. The working language is English.

From September 2013 onwards the PARTS pedagogical programme will have a new structure. The former four year curriculum is replaced by two distinctive, fully autonomous programs: 3 years Training and 2 years Research. This audition round is only for the new Training program. (The new Research will not start earlier than 2015).

The goal of the Training program remains: to develop a solid but diverse dance technique, an embodied insight into repertory and choreographic composition, a refined body-awareness and a sophisticated and informed approach to theatre, music and art history. Many courses and formats that were exclusively part of our Research program will be transferred to the new Training program: projects with guest choreographers, personal work, in-depth repertory studies, end of study performances in theatres.

Our Training program will operate according to a new organisational model. PARTS will accept new students only once in three years. Only after a group of students has finished their three years program, we start all over again with a new generation.

PARTS will select a group of 50 young dancers/choreographers who will study, work and create together. This group of 50 will work in small groups, usually 10 to 18 students. For certain subjects students can follow different tracks according to their personal profile.

The preselections for Generation XI of PARTS will start on January 5, 2013, and will be concluded in May 2013 with the final audition.
The group of 50 students will start their studies in Brussels in September 2013. PARTS shares its premises with the dance company Rosas and the music ensemble Ictus.

Final audition
Only candidates who are selected at a pre-selection can take part in the final audition, which takes place on May 7-12, 2013 in Brussels. They will receive an invitation letter with details about the precise program, timing and venue of the final audition.
