Igal Perry
Igal Perry, Artistic Director of Peridance Center, began his dance career with Bato Dor Dance Company of Israel. Mr. Perry trained in both classical ballet and Graham technique, and worked with leading teachers and choreographers. He spent a year in Holland studying at Netherlands Dance Theater and working as ballet master with Rotterdams Danscentrum. Mr. Perry came to the United States in 1976, where he worked with Dennis Wayne’s Dancers as ballet across the US and Europe. In 1983 after heading the ballet department at Jacob’s Pillow he founded the Peridance Center and established Peridance Ensemble, the contemporary dance company. Mr. Perry’s international engagements as teacher, choreographer and director have included Juilliard School (New York), Batsheva and BatDor dance companies (Israel), La Scala (Milano), Scapino Ballet (Holland) and numerous companies across world.
