Herve Palito
Herve was born in France and studied dance at Conservatoire National de Dance de La Rochelle. He also trained piano for 9 years and gymnastic for 7 years. Herve started his professional career with Ballet du XXieme Siecle, which was directed by Maurice Bejart, in Belgium in 1985. He moved to Bejart Ballet Lausanne in Switzerland in 1987, since 1991 to 1993, he was working as dancer and rehearsal director, 1993 to 1995, he promoted to a chief rehearsal director. After leaving Belgium, Herve worked for Aalto Ballet Theater by Martin Puttke in Germany as a co-director and rehearsal director until 1997, and he continued his career with Ballet de la Comunidad de Madrid by Victor Ullate in Spain as a rehearsal director. Herve moved to Canada in 1998 for working as a rehearsal director and ballet master at Lalala Human Steps by Edouard Lock until 2000. After working as a freelance guest teacher for a while, he became a rehearsal director and ballet master of Campania Nacional de Danza in 2002, he promoted to an artistic coordinator in 2003, and in 2010 to 2011, he worked as an artistic director. Ever since Herve left CND, he is working as a freelance guest ballet teacher, rehearsal director and artistic assistant with Ballet de l’Opera de Lyon (France), Cullberg Ballet (Sweden), Ballet de Montecarlo (Monaco), Staatsteater Nurnberg (Germany), Bejart Ballet Lausanne (Switzerland), Finnish National Opera (Finland) and many other companies. Herve had taught and rehearsed Nacho Duato’s works for many of companies, such as Bayerische Staatsballett (Germany), Basler Ballet (Switzerland), Royal Swedish Ballet (Sweden) and Campanha Nachinal de Bailado (Portugal). Herve also had rehearsed works from Jiri Kylian, Alexander Ekman, John Cranko, Daniela Kurtz, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin and many other choreographers in between 1991 to 2011. Herve gave master classes and workshops in different cities from Korea, France, USA, Spain, China, Uruguay, Germany, Holland, Israel, Italy. In 2011, Herve was decorated by the King Juan Carlos I, with the order of the civilian merit.
